National Centre for Seismic Instrumentation at Land and Sea

DanSeis is a Danish national research infrastructure that provides access to cutting edge seismic research equipment to scientists from research institutions in Denmark and worldwide. DanSeis equipment can be rented and used to investigate structure and physical parameters of Earth, in order to develop and test hypotheses on the tectonics and dynamics of the planet.

DanSeis consists of a pool of advanced marine and land seismometers matching the highest international standards in the field, thus facilitating the continued leading role of Danish scientific research in seismology. DanSeis is run by a consortium that comprises the University of Copenhagen (KU), the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS), Aarhus University (AU) and the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). The infrastructure is governed by KU, while its scientific coordination rests with the Geocenter Denmark.

DanSeis instruments can be rented for use by researchers from scientific research institutes upon application.

DanSeis is financially supported by the Danish Ministry for Higher Education and Science, through a grant awarded by the Danish Council for Independent Research, and the participating partner institutions.
