Scheme of rental fees

The following fees are per single instrument from the DanSeis pool

Marine instruments

Mobilisation/demobilization fee payable each time the instrument leaves the DanSeis facility. The fee amounts to 2050 DKK for a Sercel MicrOBS and to 5900 DKK for a K.U.M. Lobster. Such a fee does not cover the costs of anchors (around 1100 DKK for Sercel MicrOBS and 6100 DKK for K.U.M. Lobster, but determined at the time of rent due to possible price update), batteries (only applicable to the K.U.M. Lobster seismometers, around 5000 DKK for 1-2 months deployments, around 20000 DKK for deployments up to 1 year, but determined at the time of rent due to possible price update). The renter shall cover the costs of batteries and/or anchors. DanSeis is available to place an order for these on behalf of the renter.

Deployment fee payable prior to instrument deployment or visit for data retrieval. The fee amount to 3900 DKK for a Sercel MicrOBS and to 11400 DKK for a K.U.M. Lobster.

Land instruments

Mobilisation/demobilization fee payable each time the instrument leaves the DanSeis facility. The fee amounts to 1600 DKK for all land instruments.

Yearly fee payable per year of use. The fee amounts to 1150 DKK for Nanometrics Trillium 240 and to 900 DKK for Nanometrics Trillium Compact Posthole. The fee covering the first year is payable when the instruments are shipped from the DanSeis facility.

Additional notes

The mobilization/demobilization fees do not include the following costs, which shall instead be covered by the renter: (i) costs associated with shipping the instruments from the DanSeis facility to a location indicated by the renter, (ii) costs associated with returning the instruments to the DanSeis facility, and (iii) any custom fees associated with the transportation above.

For any instrument, there will normally be no additional fees. However, the DanSeis steering committee reserves the option of charging an additional fee to cover excessive risks associated with the specific logistics of a project. The committee will determine the amount of such a fee case by case.

The DanSeis steering committee is in principle available to negotiate a discount of deployment/yearly fees for those projects that carry insurance (paid by the project own funds) for loss or damage of instruments. The committee will determine the amount of such a discount case by case.

Research teams that include companies and/or enterprises may incur additional fees/costs due to Danish and European regulations.

The DanSeis steering committee may at any moment revise these fees.
